About This Call
This is a juried exhibition for female and female-identifying artists who currently live in Colorado. The exhibition is sponsored by the Women's Caucus for Art Colorado Chapter (WCACO) and will be shown at The Collective Community Arts Center in Lafayette, CO from November 9, 2022 to January 7, 2023. The Collective is open Tuesdays - Saturdays from 10 am - 5 pm.
The show explores how art can represent conflicts and differences as well as commonalities and ways we heal. Artists are invited to submit work that represents issues important to them, including how they impact personal relationships, community, and the world. The exhibition seeks diverse perspectives and art from across Colorado.
Eligibility: Artist must be female or female-identifying and currently living in Colorado. Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 pieces. Submit 1-3 work samples (images or videos). Images must be JPG format, minimum 1,200 pixels, maximum 5 MB. Video files must be in 3GP, WMV, AVI, MOV, ASF, MPG, MP4, M2T, MKV, or M2TS format, maximum 100 MB. Artwork requirements: 2-D work must be ready to hang with wire hanging and not exceed 40 lbs. 3-D work may not exceed 6 feet in any direction and must stand on its own. All work must be appropriate for viewing by all ages. Include an artist statement (maximum 1,000 characters) describing how your work fits the theme "Finding Common Ground in an Uncommon World." Artists will be notified of acceptance by the week of October 17, 2022. Accepted work must be delivered November 4, 2022. Artists can choose to have work for sale or not for sale; The Collective does not take a percentage of sales. Juror: Jess Xiao Long, graduate student in Art History & Museum Studies at Case Western Reserve University.
