Fifth Annual Brush with Burden Art Exhibition 2015

The Fifth Annual Brush with Burden Art Exhibition is open to all U.S. residents, 17 years of age and older, working in all art media except video and film. Works must be original, produced in the past three years, and never previously exhibited in Brush With Burden. All artwork must be priced and available for sale.

The exhibition features two categories: Art Show in the Orangerie and Photography Show in the Conference Center. Awards include First Place ($400), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200), Honorable Mention ($150), and four Merit Awards in each category. All award-winning works will be displayed at the Shaw Center for the Arts from April 1-30. A maximum of six entries per artist is accepted. Entry fee is $20.00 for the first piece and $15.00 for each additional piece. A 25% commission will be assessed on all sales, with proceeds supporting the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens.

Submissions must be in JPEG format with minimum dimensions of 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and maximum file size of 3 MB. Two-dimensional works including frame cannot exceed 46 inches by 46 inches. Three-dimensional indoor works cannot exceed 48 inches high and 18 inches wide. Outdoor sculptures must be structurally sound, made of durable materials appropriate for extended outdoor display, and securely anchored; recommended size is 3-7 feet. Drop-off is March 18, 2015 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.). The exhibition runs March 22-29, 2015. Pick-up is March 30, 2015 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.). Notification of acceptance will be sent by email on February 16, 2015.
