Field Work: Trees and Water

Black Box Gallery is hosting a juried group photography exhibition on Trees and Water. The exhibition will feature contemporary photography exploring both subjects in a dynamic and diverse presentation. Water can include oceans, rivers, pools, fountains, rain, mist, fog, lakes, snow, and waves. Trees serve as powerful subjects of composition, providing strong visual foundations for exploring space and time. The exhibition seeks to showcase the powerful visual language of contemporary photographers documenting these subjects.

Deadline: April 12, 2024. Exhibition dates: May 1-20, 2024. Entry fee: $40. Photographers may submit 1-5 images. The juror, Todd Johnson (founder and director of Black Box Gallery), will select 24 photographs for the physical exhibition and an additional 30 photographs for the online gallery annex. All 54 photographs will be included in a catalog available for purchase on Blurb Books.

Black Box Gallery provides free printing, matting, and framing for all exhibitions. Selected photographers provide high-resolution TIFF or JPEG files for printing on an Epson Stylus Pro archival inkjet printer on Epson Premium Luster Photo paper. Exhibition prints are kept in flat files after the show for future sale and promotion. Black Box Gallery takes a 50% commission on all sales, with 50% going to the photographer. Artists may request that prints not be for sale and be used for exhibition and promotion only. All rights remain with the photographer. The exhibition is open to all photographers internationally.
