Fibrous: A National Juried Exhibition of Paper and Textile Artworks

Fibrous is a juried exhibition of paper and textile artworks from across the country. The exhibition highlights the unique properties and artistic creations that can be derived from fiber mediums. This exhibition is open to all functional, non-functional, 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in all styles. Artwork must consist of either paper or textile/fiber material and/or components in 80% of its composition to qualify. Both natural and synthetic fiber materials qualify. Work must be hang or pedestal ready, no longer than 60 inches in its longest dimension, and weigh no more than 50 pounds. Size and weight restrictions may be waived by contacting the Gallery Director directly prior to submission.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 submissions (one image per artwork submission). Each additional submission over 3 is an additional $5, with a maximum of 10 works that can be submitted. Artists must submit a minimum of 3 images and a maximum of 10 images. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original and created without the aid of an instructor or kit, and must have been produced within the last eight years. Work must be hang or presentation ready with finished edges, appropriate hanging hardware, or special installation items included as needed.

The exhibition runs Saturday, June 22 - Saturday, July 27, 2024, with a reception on Friday, June 28, 2024, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by email by 5 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024. Accepted works must arrive by 5 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024. Hand deliveries are accepted by pre-arrangement. Awards include 1st Place ($500), 2nd Place ($300), and 3rd Place ($150). The d'Art Center retains a 60/40 commission on sales (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center). The exhibition will also be featured digitally on d'Art Center's archive site. Exhibition is co-curated by d'Art Center Gallery Director Amanda Bradley and Artist & Exhibition Juror Maggie Kerrigan.
