About This Call
The Floyd Center for the Arts invites wood and fiber artists throughout the United States to submit work for Fibers of Nature, a national juried exhibition. The exhibition will be held at Hayloft Gallery, Floyd Center for the Arts from February 11 to April 1, 2023.
This exhibition highlights work made from natural fibers and wood, including all forms of wood, grapevine, sweetgrass, hair, cotton, silk, hemp, wool, linen, paper, and more. All submitted works must be made from at least 50% natural fiber. The intent is to illustrate how artists transform these materials into functional pieces or fine art through weaving, sculpting, and other techniques.
Artists may submit up to five digital images representing their work. An entry fee of $30 is required for non-members and $25 for Floyd Center for the Arts members. The application deadline is January 2, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Artists will be notified of acceptance by January 9, 2023. First, second, and third place awards will be granted, as well as a "People's Choice" award. All accepted works will be exhibited in the main gallery space. Artists are responsible for shipping or delivering work to FCA and for any return shipping. Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Video entries cannot be accepted. For questions, contact [email protected] or call (540)745-2784.
