About This Call
Fiber Art: Embracing the Craft celebrates fiber art in all its forms. Core Art Space invites submissions of weavings, quilts, embroideries, beadwork, fiber sculptures, wearables, and any artwork using fiber materials and processes including fabric, yarn, thread, beads, roving, rope, and techniques such as stitching, weaving, felting, quilting, knotting, wrapping, and lacemaking. Both traditional and experimental forms and techniques are welcome.
Juror Susan Dillon is a fiber and mixed media artist who explores the physical manifestation of emotions and memories using fabric, thread, yarn, bones, and found objects. Her work has been exhibited nationally, has won numerous awards for fiber art, and is held in private collections worldwide. She teaches workshops and private lessons on fiber art techniques and maintains a studio at Globeville Riverfront Art Center (GRACe) in Denver, CO.
Entries must be submitted electronically by Tuesday, August 19, 2025, with a $35.00 fee for up to 3 works. Submit 1-3 images. Maximum artwork size: 2-D work no larger than 60 inches on its longest side including frame; 3-D work within 60"x60"x36". Accepted artists will be notified on or before August 26, 2025. All accepted work must arrive at Core by Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 4:00 pm. The exhibition runs Friday, September 12 - Sunday, September 28, 2025, with an artist reception on Friday, September 12, 5:00-9:00 pm. Core charges a 30% commission plus tax on art sold. Artists must be 18 or older. Core is not responsible for loss due to damage, theft, vandalism, or accident; fragile work is submitted at the artist's own risk.
