Fiber Art Colorado 2025

The Depot Art Gallery welcomes all Colorado artists to apply for Fiber Art Colorado 2025, a juried exhibition celebrating creativity and innovation in the fiber arts. This exhibition showcases diverse and dynamic approaches to traditional and contemporary fiber art techniques. Emerging and established artists are invited to submit their work. Selections will be made based on pieces demonstrating exceptional skill, creativity, and a unique voice in fiber arts. Cash awards totaling $1,500 will be presented for Best of Show, 2nd and 3rd Place, and three Honorable Mentions.

Submissions must fall within the domain of fiber arts, including textile art, embroidery, quilting, weaving, felting, paperwork, beading, mixed media incorporating fiber elements (at least 51% fiber), and wearable fiber art. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces. Each submission must include a jpg file of each piece, a brief artist statement, and a list of materials and techniques used. The entry fee is $35.00 for up to three pieces. All entries must be submitted by June 23, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT through CaFE.

Artwork must be manageable for display at the historic Depot Art Gallery building. Size limits are: 2D wall hanging artwork up to 30" in any direction and 25 pounds; 3D wall hanging artwork up to 20" in any direction and 25 pounds; 3D free-standing artwork up to 30" wide, 40" tall, and 25 pounds. All artwork must be ready to hang or display. Artists will be notified of acceptance on July 25, 2025. Hand-delivery for Denver Metro artists is September 7, 2025 between 9am-12pm. Colorado artists outside the Denver Metro area may ship artwork, which must be received by August 22, 2025. All artwork must be for sale; the gallery retains a 30% commission on sales. The exhibition opens September 9 and closes October 11, 2025. The Awards Ceremony and Reception will be held September 13, 2025 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Submissions will be juried by David van Buskirk, a master weaver and textile designer.
