Fiber Art Colorado

Fiber Art Colorado is a juried exhibition open to living Colorado artists of all backgrounds and experience levels. The exhibition will be held at the Depot Art Gallery, 2069 W. Powers Ave., Littleton, Colorado from July 23 to September 7, 2024. Submissions must fall within the domain of fiber arts, including textile art, embroidery, quilting, weaving, felting, paperwork, beading, mixed media incorporating fiber elements (at least 51% of artwork should be fiber), and wearable fiber art. Only original work by artists residing in Colorado is allowed. Juried selection will be based on pieces that demonstrate exceptional skill, creativity, and a unique voice in fiber arts.

Entry fee is $35 for up to two images, with a third image available for an additional $15 media fee. Submissions must be made through CaFÉ between May 5 and June 10, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Applicants must submit 2-3 JPG images (1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB) and a description of materials and techniques used. Wall hanging artwork is limited to 30" in any direction including framing and must weigh less than 25 pounds. Three-dimensional hanging works cannot exceed 20" in any direction. Three-dimensional free-standing work cannot exceed 30" wide and 60" tall and must not weigh more than 25 pounds. All work must be ready to hang or display and of professional presentation quality.

Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered only on Sunday, July 21, 2024 between 9am-12pm with an inventory sheet and attached tags. Jury notifications will be sent by email on July 3, 2024. A total of $1,500 in cash awards will be presented for Best of Show, 2nd and 3rd Place, and three Honorable Mentions. The Awards Ceremony will be held at the Reception on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 5:30-7:30 pm. All artwork must be for sale, with the Depot Art Gallery retaining a 30% commission on sales. Unsold work may be picked up on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 12pm-4pm. The juror is Cecily Cullen, Director and Curator of the Center for Visual Art at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
