About This Call
Members of Women Eco Artists Dialog (WEAD) are invited to submit work for a Juried Members' Exhibition, Feat to Fire: Celebrating 100 Years of Women's Suffrage. The exhibition will be held at the Sanchez Art Center's East Gallery in Pacifica, California, January 10 - February 9, 2020. Entries may be submitted online August 18 - October 7, 2019.
The year 2020 marks 100 years of Women's Right to Vote in the U.S. This call seeks works which demonstrate how contemporary female identified makers are using art as a means to affect change and have their voices heard. The exhibition is open to Arts Professional Members of Women Eco Artists Dialog (WEAD). Applicants must be current WEAD members. There is a $20 non-refundable entry fee for submission of up to three works. This venue is most suitable for wall hung and pedestal displayed works. Juror Jan Rindfleisch is an artist, educator, curator and author who served as executive director/curator of The Euphrat Museum of Art in Cupertino, California.
Notification of acceptance will be sent November 15, 2019. Selected artwork is due to The Sanchez Art Center by January 6, 2020. The opening reception is January 10, 2020, 7-9pm. Artists are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the Sanchez Art Center (including insurance during transit). Regional artists may hand deliver. The Sanchez Art Center will collect a 30% commission on all artwork sold in the gallery. Shipped works will be returned to artists by February 17, 2020.
