About This Call

"Fearless" is a national, juried art exhibition hosted by the Old Court House Arts Center on the Historic Town Square in Woodstock, Illinois, and curated by the e/artgroup, a professional artist collective exhibiting together for nearly 10 years. The exhibition runs October 6-29, 2016, and is being held concurrently with the Clayworker's Guild of Illinois.

The exhibition seeks artists working in most media exploring the theme of fearlessness and related questions about living with uncertainty, fear, human rights, climate change, and personal strength. Artists 18 or older may submit original work completed in the last two years. Work must be wall-mounted, free-standing, or hung from ceiling (no video or 3-D pedestal work). Maximum dimensions are 8 feet in any single dimension and 50 lbs. All work must be for sale and available for the entire exhibition period. Previously accepted works for shows at the Old Courthouse Arts Center are not eligible. For collaborative work, contact [email protected].

Submit 1-3 digital images with a $30 entry fee. Each work must be represented by one digital image; detail shots should be combined into a single split image. Accepted work is subject to a 40% commission. The gallery will insure work up to $4,000 per piece while on-site; artists are responsible for insurance to and from the show. Cash prizes totaling $500 will be awarded. Jurying is by the e/artgroup and Beate Minkovski, artist and Founding Executive Director of Woman Made Gallery in Chicago. Notifications will be emailed the first week of September 2016. Setup is September 24, 2016; the opening reception is October 15, 6-9 pm. Unsold work not picked up by December 31, 2016 becomes the property of the Old Courthouse Arts Center.
