Farwell House (rural Illinois) Summer 2026 AIR

The Farwell House AIR is a multidisciplinary visual artist residency whose mission is to nurture the creative process by providing an opportunity for artists (21 years and older) of various disciplines to work without interruption in a supportive, rural environment. For the 2026 sessions, artists will be selected through an open application process to live and work at Farwell House in Frederick, Illinois for a two-week period.

During the residency, artists will work on various tasks related to their artistic field and are required to engage with the local community in some way. This requirement may be accomplished through an exhibit, open studio event, demonstration, reading, lecture, or performance. The residency aims to provide support for artists while engaging and providing for the surrounding communities through this type of interaction.
