Farm to Frame Photography Exhibition

The 5th annual Farm to Frame juried photography exhibition celebrates agriculture and food production, preparation, and presentation in northwestern lower Michigan. The exhibition will be displayed in the Aerie Restaurant and Lounge, atop the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, from October 10 through November 30, 2016. Cash prizes will be awarded: $500 first place, $250 second place, and $100 third place, with honorable mentions at the discretion of the juror.

Photographs must have been taken between September 1, 2015 and September 14, 2016, in Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Kalkaska, Antrim, Otsego, Charlevoix, Emmet, and Cheboygan counties in Michigan. Amateur and professional photographers ages 18 and up are invited to enter. Submissions are limited to three images per photographer. Photographs must not have been previously exhibited in the nine-county area and must be dependent primarily on photographic processes.

Selected artwork must be framed and wired, ready to hang, with a maximum size of 24" x 20" (including frame) and minimum size of 12" x 10" (including frame). A name label with the photographer's name, title of work, and location must be attached to the upper right hand corner on the back of each work. All artwork must be available for sale, with Crooked Tree Arts Center retaining a 40% commission on any work sold. The submission deadline is September 14, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. The entry fee is $10 (non-refundable). Entrants will be notified on September 19. Framed pieces must be delivered to Crooked Tree Arts Center between September 19-29. The exhibit reception and winners announcement will be held on October 10 at the Aerie Restaurant and Lounge. Pieces may be picked up December 1-9.
