Far Country

TAGat120ART invites artists to submit work for the 2020 Far Country competition, the 7th annual national juried exhibition. The concept of "Far Country" explores horizons and sense of place—the defining moment where two entities meet. This may be as literal as a landscape where earth meets sea or sky meets land, or as abstract as the collision of emotions when reacting to joy, sorrow, or fear. "Far Country" may represent a space yet undiscovered physically, emotionally, or mentally; a memory of place; an idea based on home; the exotic, mundane, or extraordinary; or an unattainable dream. Successful entries will place the viewer on the threshold of experience.

All artists 18 years or older working in painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, and sculpture are invited to submit up to 3 pieces for jury selection. Artwork will be separated into two categories: 2D and photography. The entry fee is $35.00 for up to 3 pieces. Images must be submitted at 120 dpi to www.artist.callforentry.org no later than 12:00 a.m. on August 2, 2020. Successful entries will be announced by 12:00 a.m. on August 7, 2020.

Work must be shipped or delivered to TAGat120ART, 120 W. 2nd Street, Taylor, TX 76574, no later than August 26, 2020. The artist reception is at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020. The show closes Saturday, October 17, 2020. Works not sold during the show will be shipped out at the artist's expense or picked up in person no later than October 24, 2020. Cash prizes will be awarded at the opening reception: 1st prize - $500, 2nd prize - $250, and 3rd prize - a Jerry's Artarama Gift card.
