Fantastic Fibers 2023

Yeiser Art Center is accepting entries for Fantastic Fibers 2023, an international juried exhibition showcasing contemporary works in fiber art. The exhibition seeks outstanding contemporary and innovative works created with fiber as the primary medium or concept. This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and over working in the field of fiber art. All work submitted must be original, completed in the last three years, and not previously exhibited in a Fantastic Fibers exhibition. There are no size restrictions. Up to three separate pieces per artist are permitted with an entry fee of $35 to cover all entries.

Awards totaling $1,200 will be presented: $700 First Place, $300 Second Place, and $200 Third Place. The juror is Rena Wood, an Assistant Professor of Fiber Art at Tennessee Tech University's Appalachian Center for Craft. Sales will be encouraged where works are offered for purchase, but work need not be for sale to enter. Yeiser Art Center will keep a 40% commission on all gallery sales. Work will be insured for the duration of the exhibition for the value of the work, or 60% of the retail price. Artists are responsible for insuring their work during transit.

Key dates: Application deadline is February 1st, 2023. Notification of acceptance will be February 15th, 2023. Work is due at Yeiser Art Center by March 25th, 2023 at 5pm. The reception is April 28th, 2023, with awards announced during the reception; artists do not need to be present to win. The exhibition runs April 8th through June 24th, 2023.
