Fanciful Expressions

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for the 'Fanciful Expressions' exhibit at the Kavanagh Gallery of Fine Line Creative Arts Center, St. Charles, Illinois, running July 1 – August 12, 2021. Any artist whose work explores the whimsical, lighthearted, fantastical, or silly aspects of life is invited to apply. All 2-D and 3-D media will be considered. This call is open to artists residing in the United States aged 18 and over.

Up to 3 pieces may be submitted per entry. Images must be of the actual work to be exhibited. Artwork must be original, completed in the last two years, and not previously shown at Fine Line. All pieces must be for sale. A non-refundable entry fee of $35 is required. All applicants must submit an artist statement limited to 1000 characters. The Kavanagh Gallery Committee will curate the show. Jury decisions will be based on creativity, quality of artistry, and originality as represented in submitted images. Notification of jury decisions will be sent via email on or before May 22, 2021.

The gallery will charge a 30% sales commission for any artwork sold during the show. Fine Line handles all sales, sales tax, and will provide artists with a check after the show's end. Fine Line is responsible for show installation, opening reception, and sales. Artists need not be present while the show is open. $800 in prizes will be awarded. The gallery has grey pedestals for display and uses the Walker Display system for wall-hung artwork. Hanging work should have wire and screw eyes; no saw-tooth hangers or clip frames. Fine Line provides 24/7 video security and insurance coverage from receipt of work until show's end at 70% of sale price. Insurance during shipping is the artist's responsibility. Artists are responsible for shipping artwork to and from Fine Line and must include a return shipping label. Artwork packed for shipping cannot exceed 48 inches x 32 inches x 6 feet and cannot exceed 50 pounds. Work cannot be removed from the gallery until Saturday, August 14, 2021.
