Family Portraits Juried Exhibition

Family Portraits is a juried exhibition exploring contemporary interpretations of family portraiture. A family portrait can freeze a moment in time, be a construct of memories and lore, or assemble a mixed grouping crossing generations and gender in various environments. The exhibition runs January 12 – March 3, 2016 at Richmond Art Center.

Eligibility is limited to California residents. All media except video/film are accepted. Original work must have been produced in the last three years and cannot exceed 36 x 36 inches. All works must be suitably prepared for hanging or installation. Submissions must include 2-6 digital images. Entry fee is $40 for two works and $15 for each additional work. RAC Members receive a discount: $30 for two works and $10 for each additional work.

Jurors are Jan Wurm, Director of Exhibitions and Curator of Art for Richmond Art Center, and Ric Ambrose, Executive Director of Richmond Art Center. Three cash awards totaling $1,000 will be given. Jury results will be emailed November 14. Accepted work must be hand delivered December 18-19, 11am-4pm. A reception is scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2-5pm. Artwork pickup is March 4-5, 11am-4pm.
