Falling Into Winter

Falling Into Winter is a juried exhibition open to all 2D media (excluding photography and digital) created by artists in the United States. The theme invites artists to interpret "Falling Into Winter," whether through literal seasonal imagery or pieces that evoke a feeling of change. The juror is Jonathan McPhillips.

The exhibition will be held both online and in person at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society gallery in Pawtucket from November 4th through December 15th, 2023. Artists must submit 1-3 digital images of their work. Entry fee is $20 for non-members and $15 for members. Each additional image beyond the first costs $20 for non-members and $15 for members. Notification of acceptance will be sent October 20th. Drop-off and shipping dates are October 20th - November 2nd, 2023 (Thursdays & Fridays 10am-4pm, Saturdays 10am-3pm). Pieces must be picked up or returned between December 16th - January 13th.

Work must not have been previously exhibited in a Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show and must have been completed within the last 10 years. Work must be original and not copied from copyrighted material, painted by another, created under direct guidance of another, or created by following a tutorial. Acceptable 2D media include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, collage, mixed media, monotype, and egg tempera. Pieces may not exceed 48 inches on the longest side including frame. Framed work must be under glass or Plexiglas and wired with no wire or hanger showing. If shipping, provide tracking information to [email protected].
