About This Call
The 58th Annual Fallasburg Arts Festival, presented by Lowell Arts, takes place September 19 & 20, 2026 at Fallasburg Park in Lowell, Michigan. This premier fine art and fine craft event features 100 juried artists, food vendors, children's activities, craft demonstrations in a covered pavilion, and live music performances on an outdoor stage. The festival draws an estimated 25,000 visitors annually. Fallasburg Park is situated along the Flat River, located 14 miles east of Grand Rapids and one hour from both Lake Michigan and Lansing.
Artists are selected through a blind jury process by a committee of community arts professionals based on originality, quality of work, and contribution to a diverse range of media and creative styles. The festival accepts original work in the following categories: Basketry, Ceramics, Digital Art, Fiber (Wearable & Non-wearable), Floral, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metal, Mixed Media 2-D, Mixed Media 3-D, Painting/Drawing, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Soap and Skin Care, and Wood. All exhibited work must be the original concept, design, and execution of the exhibiting artist, who must be 18 or older. The application deadline is April 1, 2026, with a non-refundable jury fee of $40. Artists will be notified by May 1, with an acceptance deadline of June 1. Artist setup occurs September 18 & 19, with festival hours Saturday 10:00am-5:00pm and Sunday 10:00am-4:00pm.
Participating artists receive complimentary morning refreshments, booth sitting services, loading assistance, professional overnight security (Friday and Saturday 5pm-7am), a food vendor fast-pass ticket, and custom booth signage. Artists retain 100% of their sales proceeds. Booth options include Single Booth ($265, 12' x 12'), Corner Booth ($310, 12' x 12' with 2 sides open), and Double Booth ($530, 12' x 24'). Artists must provide their own 10' x 10' white canopy tent secured with weights. No electricity, running water, or generators are available. A $200 Best of Show Award will be presented following an on-site review, with the winner receiving automatic acceptance to the following year's festival with jury fees waived. Artists must be present for both festival days and are responsible for collecting 6% Michigan Sales Tax.
