Fall 2023 Juried Undergraduate Exhibition

Currently enrolled undergraduate students in the East Carolina University School of Art and Design are invited to submit up to four individual pieces or five collaborative pieces to the Fall 2023 Juried Undergraduate Exhibition. Works must be completed between September 2022 and September 2023 as part of coursework in the School of Art and Design. All media are eligible. There is no entry fee.

Submissions open September 1, 2023 and close September 15 at midnight CST. Jurying will take place September 17-19, with notification of acceptance on September 20. The exhibition will be on view Friday, October 6 through Friday, November 10, 2023. An awards ceremony and reception will be held Thursday, October 5 from 5-8 pm, with awards announced at 5 pm. Artwork drop-off is October 2, and pickup is November 13-14.

Awards include: Best in Show ($500), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200), ten Merit Awards at $100 each, two Friends of the School of Art and Design Awards at $150 each, and the Nell Cole Graves Award for Ceramics ($50). For group awards, prize money will be distributed evenly and distributed through student financial accounts. Jurors are Donté K. Hayes, Antoine Williams, and Johannes Barfield. By applying, applicants agree that their work may be featured online and used for promotional or publicity purposes by the School of Art and Design and Wellington B. Gray Gallery.
