About This Call
The Fine Arts League of Cary invites artists to submit work for the 21st Annual Juried Art Exhibition. This exhibition is open to current residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia only.
Eligible work includes 2D art on canvas and photography. Works must be entirely the work of a single artist, executed within the last two years, and must not have been exhibited in previous FALC juried shows. Artwork must be family-friendly and appropriate for the general public. Artists may submit 1-3 images. Giclees of canvas art, photographs reproduced on canvas, copies of artworks, or reproductions will not be accepted.
Artwork specifications: Maximum dimensions are 40" high by 30" wide including frame. All pieces must be totally dry, securely framed, wired, and ready to hang. No clip frames or sawtooth hangers are accepted. Glass glazing is permissible up to 18" by 24"; use plexiglass/acrylic on larger pieces. Maximum weight is 18 lbs. Back-stapled, edge-wrapped canvases must have edges painted to match or complement the artwork. Artworks not meeting these requirements will be refused at check-in.
Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 pieces. Credit card payments are accepted online, or checks may be mailed to FALC Treasurer, P.O. Box 3361, Cary, NC 27519-3361. Awards include 1st Place ($1,000), 2nd Place ($750), and 3rd Place ($500). Honor Award amounts vary based on sponsorships. A 25% commission will be charged by FALC for all sales resulting from the exhibition.
Entry Deadline: January 8, 2016. Notification of Acceptance: February 12, 2016. Artwork receipt deadline: February 23, 2016. Opening: February 24, 2016. Reception/Awards: February 28, 2016. Last day of show: April 23, 2016. Artwork pickup: April 25, 2016. Shipped artwork returned: April 28, 2016. Artworks not picked up as scheduled become the property of FALC unless prior arrangements are made.
Ship artwork via UPS or FedEx in a reusable container with a prepaid return label included. Do not use packing peanuts; shipments containing packing peanuts will be immediately returned. Artists are responsible for insuring their work for round-trip shipping. Ship to: FALC c/o The Page Walker Art & History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop, Cary, NC 27513.
