FALC 19th Annual Juried Art Exhibition

The Fine Arts League of Cary invites artists from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia to submit work for the 19th Annual Juried Art Exhibition. The entry fee is $35 for up to 3 pieces of art. Artists may submit 1-3 images of 2D works including paintings on canvas and photography. Works must be entirely the work of a single artist, executed within the last two years, and not previously exhibited in FALC juried shows. Artwork must be family-friendly and appropriate for the general public.

Artwork specifications: dimensions not to exceed 30" wide by 40" high including frame, with a maximum weight of 18 lbs. Pieces must be totally dry, securely framed, wired, and ready to hang. No clip frames accepted. Glass glazing is permissible up to 18" by 24"; use plexiglass/acrylic on larger pieces. Edge-wrapped canvases must have edges painted to match or complement the artwork. Giclees, photographs reproduced on canvas, copies, or reproductions will not be accepted.

Entry deadline is February 21, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification of acceptance will be sent March 18, 2014. Artwork must be received by March 25, 2014. The exhibition opens March 26, 2014, with a reception and awards ceremony on March 30, 2014. The show runs through April 20, 2014, with artwork pickup on April 21, 2014. Shipped artwork will be returned April 24, 2014. Awards include 1st Place ($1,000), 2nd Place ($750), and 3rd Place ($500), with additional Honor Awards dependent on sponsorships. The juror is Dr. Beth Mulvaney, professor of Art and Department Head at Meredith College. A 25% commission will be charged by FALC for all sales resulting from the exhibition. Artists are responsible for insuring artwork during transit and providing return shipping.
