About This Call

Laguna College of Art & Design invites fine art and illustration alumni and MFA students to participate in the fourth annual juried art exhibition at Fairhaven Mausoleum in Santa Ana. The four-day exhibition runs November 12-15, 2009, with opening night on Thursday, November 12, featuring a wine and cheese tasting and 7pm awards ceremony. A closing artist's reception with wine and cheese will be held Sunday afternoon from 3-5pm.

Artists may submit up to six images of 2D artworks (paintings, drawings, etchings, prints, illustrations) and/or 3D artworks (sculpture). Entry fee is $40. All accepted artworks should be framed and ready for easel display. Large scale 2D pieces larger than 48x48" cannot exceed 5" in depth; smaller pieces cannot exceed 2" in depth. The jury will select qualifying artists during the first week of October, with final judging from live work on November 12. Awards will be given to the top 3 artists: Best in Show (1st place), Award of Excellence (2nd place), and Honorable Mention (3rd place). All artists juried into the show will receive a participation certificate. Pieces are encouraged to be for sale; a 30% commission applies per exhibition rules.

Fairhaven Mausoleum is a century-old memorial park located at the border of Santa Ana, Orange, and Tustin. Built in 1916, the stone and marble structure spans approximately 20,000 square feet and is included in the National Register of Historical Places. The venue features 30-foot ceilings, marbled walls and floors, and stained glass windows. The exhibition is co-sponsored by Fairhaven Memorial Park and LCAD. For questions, contact Tracy Hartman ([email protected]) or Regina Jacobson ([email protected]).
