Eye of the Camera Thematic Photography Competition and Exhibition

The City of Littleton Fine Arts Board presents the 53rd Annual Eye of the Camera Thematic Photography Competition and Exhibition, awarding $2,400 in cash prizes. This year's juror is Gary Emrich (www.GaryEmrich.com). The 2019 theme is "EVOKE"—seeking printed photographic work that explores the concept of evoking a strong mental image, emotion, feeling, or reaction.

Submission Requirements: All entries must be submitted through CaFE (callforentry.org) by January 4, 2019 at midnight mountain time. Entry fee is $30 (non-refundable). Entrants may submit up to 3 photographs. All work must have been produced in the last 3 years and not shown in a Denver area juried photo show in the last two years. This competition is open to Colorado residents only. Framed photographs must not exceed 60 inches in length on any one side. All entries must be available for sale, and the Fine Arts Board will charge a 25% commission on the sale price of any artwork sold during the exhibit.

Accepted Work and Exhibition: Notifications will be sent by USPS mail on or around January 11, 2019. If accepted, artwork must be delivered in person on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 between 3pm and 7pm to the Littleton Museum (6028 S. Gallup St., Littleton, CO 80120). Artwork may not be shipped. All accepted entries must be properly framed and ready to hang with appropriate hanging materials (no saw tooth hangers) and identified with photographer's name, title, price, and contact information. Accepted photographs will be on display in the Littleton Museum's Fine Arts Gallery from February 22 through March 24, 2019. Artwork may not be removed from the exhibit until the close of the show. Pickup of artwork is Monday, March 25, 2019 from 9am to 3pm. Artwork not picked up at the specified time will be forfeited and become the property of the City of Littleton.

Awards: Best of Show ($1,500), First Place ($600), Second Place ($300). Best of Show Winner receives a joint exhibition in 2020 with the Best of Show Winner from the Own an Original exhibit.
