Eye of the Camera: Artificial/Natural

The City of Littleton Fine Arts Board presents the 54th Annual Eye of the Camera Thematic Photography Competition and Exhibition, awarding $2,400 in cash prizes. The 2020 theme explores "Artificial/Natural"—the tension between what is made by humans (artificial, synthetic, man-made) and what is produced by nature (wild, uncultivated, real). Juror: Angela Faris Belt.

Eligibility and Requirements: Open to Colorado residents only. All work must have been produced in the last 3 years and not shown in a Denver area juried photo show in the last two years. Entrants may submit up to 3 photographs. Entry fee is $30 (non-refundable). Framed size must not exceed 60 inches on any side. All accepted entries must be available for sale; the Fine Arts Board charges a 25% commission on sales. Accepted photographs must be properly framed and ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers), identified with photographer's name, title, price, and contact information. Include a short statement describing how your work relates to the theme.

Schedule and Awards: Submission deadline is January 23, 2020 at midnight MST through CaFÉ. Notifications will be sent by USPS mail on or around January 31, 2020. If accepted, artwork must be delivered in person on Thursday, March 5, 2020 between 3pm and 7pm to the Littleton Museum (no shipping). Exhibition dates: March 20–April 26, 2020 at the Littleton Museum, 6028 S. Gallup Street, Littleton, CO 80120. Artwork pickup: Monday, April 27, 2020 from 9am to 3pm. Awards: Best of Show ($1,500), First Place ($600), Second Place ($300). Best of Show winner receives a joint exhibition in 2021 with the Best of Show winner from the Own an Original exhibit.
