Eye of the Camera 2018

The City of Littleton Fine Arts Board presents the 52nd Annual Eye of the Camera Thematic Photography Competition and Exhibition, awarding $2,400 in cash prizes. This year's juror is Gary Reed. The 2018 theme is "Past Due," seeking printed photographic work in both black and white and color that explores the concept of expectation being out of sync with time. Related ideas include missed opportunity, out of season, unharvested, late arrival, forgotten, abandoned, defaulted, something owed, and beyond its prime.

This competition is open to Colorado residents only. Entry fee is $30 (non-refundable). Entrants may submit up to 3 photographs total across two categories: Color and Black & White. All work must have been produced in the last 3 years and not shown in a Denver area juried photo show in the last two years. Framed photographs must not exceed 60 inches in length on any one side. All entries must be available for sale, and the Fine Arts Board will charge a 25% commission on the sale price of any artwork sold during the exhibit.

Submissions must be made through CaFE by January 5, 2018 at midnight mountain time. Notifications will be sent by USPS mail on or around January 12, 2018. Accepted artwork must be delivered in person on Monday, February 5, 2018 between 3pm and 7pm to the Littleton Museum (6028 S. Gallup St., Littleton, CO 80120). No shipping is permitted. The exhibition runs February 16 through March 25, 2018 at the Littleton Museum's Fine Arts Gallery. Artwork must be picked up by Monday, March 26, 2018 between 9am and 3pm; artwork not picked up will be forfeited. Awards include Best of Show ($750 each for Color and Black & White), First Place ($300 each), and Second Place ($150 each). Best of Show winners receive a joint exhibition in 2018.
