Eye of the Artist: Happiness Is... (4th Annual Juried Show)

The Yadkin Arts Council announces the 4th annual juried competition open to all 2D and 3D artists 18 years of age or older residing in North Carolina. The exhibition will be held at Welborn Gallery, Yadkin Cultural Arts Center, 226 E. Main Street, Yadkinville, North Carolina 27055, from July 11 – August 29, 2014.

Artists may submit a maximum of two original two-dimensional works and/or two three-dimensional works completed in the last two years. Works must not be mass-produced and must be for sale. All entries must be digital in JPG format with file size between 1.5 and 2.5 MB. Works may not exceed 46" x 46" including frame and must be properly wired for hanging (no saw tooth hangers). Framing must be wood or metal only. Artists must submit a brief resume, artist statement, or bio at the time of entry. The entry fee is $15 per category (non-refundable). Accepted works must be received by July 3, 2014, either hand-delivered or shipped with pre-paid return label and handling fee ($30 for one entry, $50 for two entries).

The juror is Carolyn Blaylock. Cash awards total $3,000: 1st place $1,500, 2nd place $1,000, 3rd place $500, plus 2 Honorable Mentions and 1 People's Choice award. The Yadkin Arts Council retains a 20% commission on sales. Payment from sales will be made within 30 days after the close of the exhibit. A reception and awards ceremony will be held July 11, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
