About This Call
Gallerium presents EXTINCTION: Save the Planet - 2023, now in its 3rd year. This dual exhibition and publication opportunity invites visual artists worldwide to act as ambassadors for Earth by showcasing artworks that address environmental and extinction-related themes.
Artists are encouraged to submit work visualizing subjects including: global warming and ice mass loss, threatened species on the IUCN Red List, animals and plants suffering from climate change, pollution (air, water, plastic, chemical, thermal, noise, light, soil, and radioactive), vanishing forests and wildfires, natural disasters and their effects, and prevention of extinction. All artistic expressions in any medium—abstract or representational—are welcome. Submission is free; a USD 40 selection fee applies only to selected artists. Artists can submit up to 5 artworks, with a maximum of 2 selected per artist.
Selected artworks will be published in The Book of Arts: Extinction 2023 (available in free online and paid print formats) and exhibited online from April 22 to May 22, 2023. Selected artists receive an exhibition catalogue, digital exhibition poster, social media badges, artwork ratings and comments from visitors, press release distribution, analytics reports, a free online artist profile page on Biafarin, and a digital certificate. Eligible artists worldwide can submit original artworks created within the last 5 years in painting, drawing, illustration, printmaking, photography, digital art, fiber art, sculpture, and mixed media. Artworks must be entirely the artist's original work with all rights retained for international presentation and publication.
