About This Call
EXTINCTION: Save the Planet is a dual exhibition and publication opportunity organized by Gallerium, open to all visual artists worldwide. Artists are invited to showcase artworks that visualize extinction-related subjects, including global warming concerns, endangered species from the IUCN Red List, animal and plant suffering due to climate change, pollution, vanishing forests, natural disasters, and efforts to prevent extinction. All artistic expressions and artworks created in any medium—abstract or representational—are welcome. Painting, drawing, illustration, printmaking, photography, digital art, fiber art, sculpture, and mixed media are accepted. Artists can submit up to 5 original artworks. Artworks must be entirely the work of the entrant and not copies or derivatives of other copyrighted work. There is no size limit or limit on artwork creation year, though artworks created within the last 5 years are preferred.
Selected artworks will be published in The Book of Arts: Extinction 2022 publication and showcased in the Extinction: Save the Planet international online group exhibition from April 22 to May 22, 2022. The online version of the book will be available for free, while high-quality print versions can be ordered. Selected artworks will also be published in an exhibition catalogue available in online and print formats. Each artist receives a digital exhibition poster, social media promotional badges, an artist profile page on the Biafarin platform, and a digital certificate. An exhibition press release will be published in art media, and artists will receive reports with analytics on views, comments, engagement, and sales statistics.
Submission is free. Selected artists pay a selection fee of USD 35, which is fixed regardless of the number of selected artworks. Maximum 2 artworks may be selected per artist. Artworks must include only the artwork in the photo with no frames or extraneous backgrounds. Artists must have all rights for presenting and publishing artworks internationally. Artworks including pornography, violence, racial or religious hatred, or inappropriate or offensive content are not admissible.
