Expressions West 2019

Expressions West 2019 is an exhibition at Coos Art Museum open to artists residing in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Artists may submit up to three artworks. The entry fee is $20 for the first submission and $10 for each additional submission.

Eligible mediums include paintings, drawings, hand-pulled prints, mixed media, fiber and textiles, small sculptures, glass, turned and carved wood, and jewelry (if all elements were created by the artist). All artworks must have been created within the last two years (2017-2019) and have a framed size limitation of 48 inches by 96 inches with a weight limitation of 50 pounds. Ineligible mediums include photography, video, motion picture film, audio, computer-generated digital artworks, giclée prints, and furniture. Submission images should be JPEG format, minimum 1920 pixels, maximum 5 MB at 300 dpi.

The exhibition runs April 19 - June 29, 2019. Accepted artworks must be delivered to the museum between April 8-13, 2019. Cash awards include First Place ($1,000), Second Place ($750), and Third Place ($250), plus four Honorable Mention ribbons. Works available for sale require the artist to donate 30% of any sale to Coos Art Museum. Artists must arrange and pay for return shipping of their work or pick it up in person on June 29-30, 2019. Art is insured while in the museum from April 8 through July 5, 2019. The juror is Geoffrey McCormack, a Eugene-based artist known for sculpture and watercolor painting.
