About This Call
EXPOSURE: The 21st Annual PRC Juried Exhibition (April 28 – June 10, 2017)
The Photographic Resource Center invites entries for its annual juried exhibition, seeking a broad range of work including both traditional and non-traditional approaches to photography. Since its inception in 1996, over 300 photographers have shown in the PRC Juried Exhibitions, including established photographers and those cited as "ones to watch." Each year, a respected member of the photographic community—from curators to gallerists to photo editors—is asked to select ten to fifteen artists. The curator then selects between two and five pieces per person, offering artists the opportunity to showcase a series at a deeper level.
Juror: Sarah Kennel, The Byrne Family Curator of Photography at the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA. Kennel joined PEM in 2015 following a nine-year curatorial tenure at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. She won first prize from the Association of Art Museum Curators in 2013 for an essay on Charles Marville and organized the related exhibition that traveled to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in art history from UC Berkeley and a B.A. from Princeton University.
Entry Fee: $40. Photographers may submit up to ten (10) images from a cohesive, exhibition-ready body of work, along with an artist statement and resume. Current PRC Individual or Institutional Membership is required (valid through June 30, 2017). Deadline: February 26, 2017 (before 11:59pm MST).
