About This Call

The b.j. spoke gallery's 38th annual competition will be judged by Erica Cooke, Research Fellow at the Museum of Modern Art in the Department of Painting and Sculpture, PhD Candidate, Princeton University Art and Archaeology Department. Winners will participate in a one-month show at the gallery in Huntington, NY in March 2019.

Artists may submit up to 6 images of work. Video artists may submit up to two 10-minute videos. The gallery will attempt to select several pieces by each artist where size permits. Competition is limited to artists living in the United States. Entry fee is $35. All fine arts media are acceptable: watercolor, drawing, pastel, painting, sculpture, mixed media, installation art, photography, video, digital art, etchings, monotype, monoprint, silk screen, lithography, collagraph, and fiber art. No crafts.

Work is limited to 60" in any direction and should not weigh more than 40 lbs. All wall pieces must be framed and wired or display ready. Use plexiglass only (no glass) for work that will be shipped. Installation art must be set up and removed by the artist. Artists are responsible for shipping or conveying their own work to and from the exhibit. Application deadline is November 28, 2018.
