About This Call
Exploring the Light is the 12th annual Lone Tree juried photography competition, running April 19 to June 8, 2014 at the Lone Tree Arts Center (10075 Commons Street, Lone Tree, Colorado, 80124). The competition is presented by the Lone Tree Arts Commission and the Lone Tree Photo Club.
Eligibility and Requirements: Photographers must be residents of Colorado. Eligible photographers may enter up to three images. Images must be originals executed and altered by the photographer only, non-offensive to a general audience of all ages, and must be for sale. Images must have been photographed within the last three years and not shown in a previous Lone Tree photography show. Accepted images must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit. Images must be delivered and retrieved in person during designated times only (Drop off: Wednesday, April 16, 2014, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Pick up: Monday, June 9, 2014, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). All images must be delivered framed and ready to hang, meeting gallery quality standards with reinforced hardware and picture wire suitable for the Arakawa Hanging System. Framed images must not weigh more than 35 lbs.
Categories include Landscape, Animals, Motion, and Abstract. Photographers may submit in multiple categories by selecting the "multiple category" option and providing the intended category in the image description. Entry deadline is Monday, February 24, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. MST. Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable), payable via credit card through CaFE or by check made payable to the City of Lone Tree. Individual images are juried by blind jury review. Total cash awards are estimated at $4,000. The Best of Show winner will be awarded gallery space for approximately 30 days at the Lone Tree Arts Center following the photo show. The Lone Tree Arts Center will conduct sales and retain a 20% commission on all sales. Accepted photographers may sell up to six images of bin work at the opening reception only.
