Exploring Sunlight

R Gallery invites Colorado artists to submit original artwork for the "Exploring Sunlight" exhibition. The gallery is seeking work that explores the impact, implications, and effects of sunlight beyond typical representations of sunrises and sunsets—work that examines the light of the sun as a principal character or force in the piece. While sunset and sunrise images may be accepted, the gallery is particularly interested in pieces that are dynamically inventive and unique in their interpretation and use of sunlight.

The exhibition runs from March 3-29, 2020, and is open to Colorado artists working in all mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and mixed-media. Submissions must include 3-10 images of original work. The entry fee is $35.00 with an additional $5.00 media fee. Pieces should ideally be less than 30" wide including frame or case, though a limited number of pieces up to 48" wide are accepted. Accepted works must arrive by March 1, 2020, and will be returned by April 15, 2020. All pieces must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition and must be for sale. R Gallery charges a 50% commission on sales and will send payment to artists by the 15th of the month following the sale. Notification of acceptance will be sent February 13, 2020. An artists' reception is scheduled for Friday, March 13, 6:00pm-8:00pm.
