EXISTIMOS (WE EXIST) - PRIDE (LGBTQ+) Exhibition

EXISTIMOS (WE EXIST) is a juried exhibition celebrating queer artists and visibility. Entries will be reviewed based on technical application, originality, and concept. Selected finalists will be invited to exhibit their work in a 4-week exhibition at Proyecto Galería in Mexico City. Artists selected for the gallery show will be notified of exact exhibition dates once mandated COVID closures are lifted.

Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Proposals may include multiple disciplines. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own the sole copyright. 2D artwork selected for exhibition must be ready to hang with professional quality frames, mats, and wiring. The number of pieces exhibited varies depending on the artist's medium, sizes, shapes, and available wall space, with every artist able to exhibit a sizable body of work.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each (maximum 20 images total). Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. All shipments must include a prepaid UPS or FedEx return label in a reusable container. No packing peanuts are permitted. Selected artists will be featured in a full-color publication titled EXISTIMOS (WE EXIST) added to the LACMA Balch Art Research Library permanent catalog, and all exhibiting artists will receive a complimentary paperback edition. The exhibition will also be available online on Artsy, with a virtual opening reception on June 6 and virtual closing reception on July 31. Gallery retains a 50% commission on all exhibition sales in gallery and online.
