Exhibitions Open Call | Group + Solo

H Gallery + Studios, located in Ventura, California, is a 10,000 square foot contemporary art space opened in 2011. The gallery includes a 3,000 square foot gallery, a 2,700 cubic foot suspended installation area, and 20 work studios. H Gallery is nestled between Malibu and Ojai and is one of the most established contemporary spaces in the greater Los Angeles area.

This open call accepts submissions for group exhibitions and solo features. Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Proposals may include multiple disciplines. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own the sole copyright. Exhibition lengths vary from 6 to 12 weeks for in-gallery exhibitions and 3 to 6 months for online exclusives. Selected artists are invited to attend receptions, and a select few may be invited for recorded artist interviews or panel discussions.

Submissions must include at least 3 images (maximum 20), a biography and/or artist statement, artist website link, and links to at least 1 social media platform. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images; additional images cost $5 each (maximum 20 total). An optional video consultation with the gallery director is available for $100. Entries are reviewed weekly, and early applications are encouraged. Notifications are sent via email generally within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Gallery retains a 50% commission on all exhibition sales. Sales remittance to artists will be provided within 5-7 business days after the close of exhibition and receipt of payment.
