Exhibition 280

Exhibition 280 is a regional competition open to artists eighteen years and older who reside in West Virginia and bordering states: Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. All types of media are accepted.

Artists may submit a maximum of three works created in the past three years. Works cannot have been exhibited at the Huntington Museum of Art in the past three years. Entry fee is $30 for 1 to 3 works. Submissions are accepted online at www.callforentry.org. The application period runs from April 15, 2015 through June 30, 2015. Juror Patterson Sims will select works for exhibition. Three $2,000 cash awards will be given for works selected by the juror, and a purchase award will be selected by the HMA Curator after installation.

Accepted artwork must be suitably prepared with proper supports, hanging devices, and clear installation instructions. Wall space and pedestals will be provided. Height limit is 9 feet and weight limit is 500 lbs. No ceiling-suspended objects can be accommodated. Installation, computer-based, and video works must include all materials required for presentation. Straight-projection video works will be shown looped with other accepted video works. The exhibition runs October 10, 2015 to February 14, 2016, with an opening reception on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm. Hand-delivered works may be delivered September 14-27, 2015. Shipped works must be received by September 26, 2015. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance charges in both directions. An insurance value must be declared for all artwork. Accepted artwork may not be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition on February 14, 2016.
