Excursions: AVA's Fall 2025 Juried Exhibition

Excursions celebrates the adventurous spirit of an inquisitive traveler. From bustling street scenes and sun-soaked coastlines to quiet forest trails and winding train rides, this exhibition seeks to evoke the sights, sounds, and textures of travel. The exhibition invites artists to explore travel experiences both distant and close to home—from visiting vineyards in France or ancient ruins in South America to discovering new perspectives and magical beauty in local communities.

AVA Community Art Center in Gillette, WY invites artists to submit up to three (3) artworks for consideration. The exhibition will feature up to thirty (30) individual artworks based on juror selections. Awards include: Best In Show ($500), Second Place ($250), Third Place ($150), and one People's Choice award ($100) selected by public votes. Winners will be announced during a public Artists' Reception.

Eligibility: Artists must be 16 years or older. Artwork must be original work created on or after January 2021 and not previously exhibited at AVA. Both 2D and 3D original artwork in any medium are considered. Artwork dimensions are restricted to 48 inches in any direction, inclusive of matting and framing. Artwork must be finished and display ready. Framing must be professional; sawtooth hangers, clip frames, plastic framing, French Cleat systems, and pre-drilled stainless post systems are not permitted. Canvas artwork must be framed. Mats and backings must be acid-free. Ineligible work includes celebrity portraits, fan art, giclee or reproduction prints, artwork created from tutorials, direct copies of others' work, and work infringing on copyright. Entry fee is $15 (non-refundable) for up to three submissions. Upon acceptance, artists receive a 65% commission split as AVA members or 55% as non-members. Artists are required to provide a short biography and may include business cards or professional links for inclusion with artwork sales.
