About This Call
Call for entries for an exchange exhibition featuring the Los Angeles Printmaking Society and California Society of Printmakers. The exhibition will be held at LA Print Space at the Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Avenue Suite B273, Los Angeles, CA 90069, from May 16 to June 28, 2013. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The opening reception is May 16, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Eligibility: LAPS artist members with current dues. Artists whose membership has lapsed may renew by sending a $50 check with the entry form and fee. Artists may enter a maximum of 3 artworks. Entry fee is $15 for up to 3 entries. Accepted media includes original works in all printmaking media including monotypes, monoprints, and three-dimensional works (sculpture and artist books). Traditional photography, solely digital prints, offset reproductions, and reproductions of art originally produced in other media will not be considered. Two-dimensional work should be framed with plexiglass and ready to hang. Three-dimensional work should be ready for display and books should be ready to display on a table.
Juror: Roxanne Sexauer, who holds BFA and MFA degrees in printmaking and has been on the faculty at California State University, Long Beach since 1989. Timeline: March 15, 2013 is the deadline for submission of entries and jury notification card. Jury results will be notified March 30, 2013. Shipped and hand-delivered artworks must be delivered to the gallery between May 6 and May 10, 2013. Work will be taken down June 28, 2013; shipped work will be sent back to artists, and hand-delivered work may be picked up from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Artist work will only be insured while in the gallery; insurance and liability during transit is not covered. Sale of work: Artist 60%, Pacific Design Center 10%, Gallery 10%, LAPS 10%, CSP 10%.
