About This Call
The EVOLUTION GRANT awards $1,000 to one visual artist each grant cycle. Funds are unrestricted and can be applied toward any expense to enhance the artist's ability to create work. The application fee is $35 (non-refundable).
This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. All fine art mediums are eligible including oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, and digital art, except video/film. There is no restriction on style, genre, or subject matter. Once an artist is awarded an Evolution Grant, they are not eligible to apply again.
Applicants must submit a body of work between 8-20 pieces, along with an artist statement and artist bio. All images must be in JPEG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, with a maximum file size of 5 MB. Applications are reviewed and scored based on the body of work. Notification will be sent by email by Friday, November 19, 2021. Cash awards over $600 are subject to federal income tax withholding; winners must complete a W-9 form.
