About This Call

The Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild, Inc., a 76-year-old gallery located on the east end of Long Island, NY, announces its sixth annual juried art competition and exhibition titled "Every Picture Tells A Story," juried by Seung Lee, an award-winning artist and professor of art at Long Island University.

Entries are accepted in three categories: Fine Art, Photography, and Mixed Media (Crafts). Awards are made in each category: First place $150, Second place $100, Third place $75. The competition is open to all artists age 18 and older living in the United States. Entry fee is $25.00 for one piece in each category and $5.00 per additional entry, with a maximum of 20 pieces per artist. Artists may enter one, two, or all three categories. All work must be original and submitted as JPEG or JPG files (minimum 1,200 pixels, recommended 1,920 pixels or larger on longest edge, under 5 MB). Include a sale price or indicate NFS (not for sale) and a brief artist statement (50-100 words maximum).

This competition is conducted virtually. Winners' and accepted work will be exhibited and available for purchase from the Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild website/online store from June 10, 2024 through August 31, 2024, and featured in the organization's newsletter with over 1,000 recipients. The Guild retains a 30% commission on works sold. Payments to artists for sold pieces will be made within 30 days after the close of the exhibition. Shipping of artwork sold through the Guild website is the responsibility of the artist, with shipping fees paid by the purchaser. Works accepted in the exhibition must be available to be photographed for advertising and publicity during the entire exhibition run. Applications are accepted from April 1, 2024 through May 31, 2024, with acceptance notifications on June 9-10, 2024.
