About This Call
Center for the Arts Evergreen (formed from the merger of Sculpture Evergreen and Center for the Arts Evergreen on January 1, 2023) invites artists to submit work for the Evergreen Sculpture Walk, a juried exhibition of up to 16 large sculptures for outdoor display in Evergreen, Colorado, in the foothills west of Denver. Initiated in 1999, this annual program continues Sculpture Evergreen's legacy of public art acquisition to beautify open spaces and public buildings.
Accepted sculptures will be on display for one year until June 1, 2025. Each accepted sculpture receives a $1,200 stipend, and a Juried Award of $1,000 is given for artistic excellence. Sculptures must be original, at least 4 feet tall, and soundly constructed to withstand wind gusts up to 75 mph. Sculptures must have a steel mounting plate for welding to a pedestal, another suitable attachment method, or be of sufficient weight and durability to be safely placed on the ground. Pieces between 4-12 feet in height have the best chance of selection. Artists must be present for installation on Saturday, June 8, 2024, and for deinstallation in the first week of June 2025. Overnight accommodation will be provided for artists traveling more than 50 miles from Evergreen.
Entry fee is $35 for two submissions or $45 for three submissions. Submit 2-3 digital images per submission through www.callforentry.org. Eligible artists must reside in the United States and may enter up to 3 sculptures. All works must be original and identical to submitted images. Sculptures will be listed for sale in a published brochure and on the website. Center for the Arts Evergreen acts as agent and receives a 25% commission on sales during the exhibition. Selected artists may also provide up to 5 small pieces for the CAE retail gift shop (June 2024-June 2025) with a 60% commission to the artist on sales. Center for the Arts Evergreen will provide full insurance for all installed artwork. For more information, contact Sara Miller at [email protected].
