Ever-Present: Birds in Our Daily Lives

Silverwood Park invites artists who are at least 18 years old to submit work for a juried exhibition titled Ever-Present: Birds in Our Daily Lives, running October 13 - November 30, 2022. The exhibition is juried by Mike Curran, an arts writer and independent curator based in Minneapolis. This exhibition coincides with Three Rivers Park District's Big Year of Birds.

Artists are invited to submit work that responds to the presence or absence of birds in our daily lives. Birds, both wild and domestic, are found across the planet and live in close relationship to humans, influencing society in concrete ways from food and fashion to hobbies and sports. Work can be 2-D or 3-D, representational or abstract. Framed work should not measure more than 40 inches in width. 3-D work must fit on a 15" x 15" pedestal or be freestanding or suspended. Submit 1-3 images with image information, an artist statement, and a resume or bio saved as PDF with your name included.

Application Deadline: August 15, 2022 by 11:59 pm. Notification by email September 12. Delivery by shipment or drop-off September 26 - October 3. Opening reception October 13 from 6 - 8 pm. Return of artwork December 1 - 8 for artist pick-up or week of December 12 for return shipping. Artists are responsible for all shipping fees and insurance.
