About This Call
Open to all artists nationally working in clay, including sculptors, functional artists, potters, and hand builders. This exhibition showcases contemporary ceramic art being made in the United States. Eligibility is limited to artists 18 years and older living in the United States.
All artwork must be original and completed within the last two years. Artwork cannot have been previously exhibited at Epperson Gallery of Ceramic Arts, and all artwork must be for sale. Accepted artwork that differs significantly from the image in the online submission will be disqualified. The judge is Scott A. Shields, associate director and chief curator at the Crocker Art Museum, with an MA and PhD in art history from the University of Kansas and over twenty-five years of museum experience.
Entry fee is $40.00 with a $5.00 media fee. Submit 3-6 images of your work. Awards: First Place $1,500, Second Place $1,000, Third Place $500. Exhibition dates are November 13, 2020 through January 17, 2021. Artist notification is October 28, 2020. Shipping deadline is November 5, 2020, with hand delivery available November 5-8, 2020. Opening reception is November 14, 2020. Unsold work can be picked up January 18-22, 2021. Artists receive 50% commission from all gallery sales. Size limitations: artwork must fit through doors with 80"h x 84"w clearance, ceilings are 11 feet high, and nothing over 70 lbs will be accepted.
