About This Call
PRPG.mx invites artists of all media to reflect on the sacred journey of life and death and submit their work. Located in the culturally rich center of Mexico City, PRPG.mx is steps from the central celebrations of Dia de Los Muertos. The gallery seeks unique responses to the concepts underlying the life and death journey from artists' own unique cultural perspectives, including expressions of personal and cultural mythologies, traditions, and rituals. The show is tentatively scheduled to run from October 29th to December 10th, 2022, and will include several private events for collectors and cultural leaders amongst regularly scheduled public hours and events.
Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, video, mixed media, and new genres. Proposals may include multiple disciplines. The entry fee is $30 for up to 10 images. All work must be original, unsold work, and the artist must own the sole copyright. For 2D artwork selected for exhibition, pieces must be ready to hang with professional quality frames, mats, and wiring in good condition. All accepted work must remain for the duration of the exhibit.
Entries are reviewed bi-weekly with notifications sent on a rolling basis. Selected artists will receive notification of status. An Invited status means immediate invitation for an upcoming group or solo exhibition. A Wait List status means the gallery is interested in working with the artist but may not have an immediate place in the program; waitlisted artists are reviewed up to 9 months after the close of the call. An optional consultation with the gallery curator is available for $60, limited to 1 hour via Zoom, with a 30-day scheduling window. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance.
