Encaustic: Nature as Muse

Encaustic: Nature as Muse is a national, juried exhibition hosted by the Steamboat Springs Arts Council in Steamboat Springs, CO. Up to 40 artists will be selected to display traditional or non-traditional works incorporating encaustic techniques in the Main Gallery.

Eligibility and Requirements: Open to all artists working in encaustics and residing in the United States. Functional and non-functional, traditional and non-traditional, 2D and 3D pieces are accepted. Work may not exceed 24" x 24" unframed. All work must be for sale. Entry fee is $30 per artist for up to three entries. SSAC Artist members pay a 30% commission on sales; non-members pay a 50% commission.

Submission Details: Digital entry only in JPEG format at 300 dpi, no more than 2100 pixels at the longest dimension. Files must be labeled with artist's first initial and last name followed by entry number (e.g., e.smith01). Artists are responsible for shipping and insurance costs to and from the gallery. All work must include a return label for return shipment with a weight limit of 15 lbs. The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is not responsible for damage during shipment. The Arts Council reserves the right to photograph exhibited work and use digital images for reproduction in printed and electronic materials for publicity.
