En Foco: New Works Photography Fellowship Awards No. 14

En Foco, Inc. invites U.S. based photographers of Latino, African and Asian heritage, and Native Peoples of the Americas and Pacific to submit work to the New Works Photography Fellowship Awards #14. The program encourages artists to create or continue an in-depth photographic series in any photo-based fine art or documentary style/genre. There is no fee to apply.

Applicants must be of Latino, African, Asian or Native (Americas or Pacific) heritage; be U.S. citizens or green card holders; and be over the age of 18. Work should address issues relevant to personal experience with cultural consciousness grounded in identity and personal statement. Applicants may propose a new project or continue existing work. Decisions will be based on quality of images submitted and ability to complete the proposed project by February 2011. If selected, new work must consist of 15-20 exhibition-quality images for a group exhibition curated by En Foco staff in 2011.

Two Fellowship winners will each receive $1,000 honoraria plus $200 materials stipend, Canson Infinity product gift certificate, photo-related goods from Bogen and Lowepro, one-year En Foco membership ($100 value), photographers page on enfoco.org, article in Nueva Luz photographic journal, and exhibition in New York. Three Honorable Mention winners will receive $100 honoraria, Canson Infinity product gift certificates, photo-related goods, one-year En Foco membership ($50 value), photographers page on enfoco.org, inclusion in Nueva Luz article, and exhibition in New York. Guest juror is Andy Adams, Editor and Publisher of Flak Photo. All participants will be contacted by August 30, 2010, with final decisions by September 10, 2010. Submission requirements include a written project proposal (no more than 400 words), one-page biography/resume, artist statement, and twenty tightly edited images from the same series.
