About This Call
In commemoration of International Women's Day, EmpowHER 2: The Art of Being a Woman brings together women artists whose work reflects the strength, complexity, and beauty of womanhood. This exhibition celebrates women's voices and lived experiences while addressing the personal, social, and economic realities women navigate every day. Through powerful visual storytelling, participating artists will explore themes of self-love, assertiveness, equality, and women's rights.
The exhibition welcomes artwork exploring self-love and self-acceptance; assertiveness and claiming one's voice; equality and challenging gender stereotypes; equal pay and economic justice; and women's rights including reproductive rights, education, bodily autonomy, and freedom from discrimination. Interpretations may be literal, abstract, or conceptual. All mediums and styles are welcome, including painting, mixed media, sculpture, textile, and photography.
The exhibition runs March 6 – April 3, 2026 at The SPACE Lounge Gallery, The Stutz (1060 N. Capitol Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46204). The opening reception is Friday, March 6 from 5:30–7:30 PM. The application deadline is February 28, 2026. For questions or additional information, contact [email protected].
