EMOTIONS!

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork exploring emotions. The exhibition theme invites artists to present the visual equivalent of one or more emotions through any subject matter and style. Artists can submit traditional or non-traditional portrait images of individuals, couples, or groups, or share narrative scenes revealing psychological states. Artwork can be realistic or conceptual, exploring emotional dynamics, self-identity, emotional stability, or responses to life's challenges. Any technique and style is acceptable, including realistic, abstract, surreal, cubist, expressionist, or synthesis of styles.

Accepted mediums include painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography. Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to 9 maximum. All images must be submitted as JPEG files under 5 MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Maximum dimensions are 48 inches (framed) on the longest side and 45 lbs for paintings; sculptures should not exceed 24 inches on any dimension. Photographs should be framed in black or white frames with white or off-white mats.

Artists will be notified of acceptance on or about April 8, 2025. Accepted artwork must arrive by June 2, 2025. The exhibition runs June 5 - July 3, 2025. Awards include an "Art of Distinction" Award featuring a special exhibition, an Annual Grand Prize offering a New York City exhibition opportunity, and a Director's Choice Award of $200. The MVA Gallery is located in historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, one hour from New York City.
