Emerging Excellence

Emerging Excellence is a juried art show and gallery exhibition hosted by the Tower Gallery at the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau to support the North Texas art community and foster professional growth of undergraduate art students. The theme is "Life in North Texas – representing North Texas as a physical and cultural landscape in both temporal and abstract forms." The exhibition will be held from December 1-31, 2015, with a reception for artists, collectors, the public, and press.

Eligibility is limited to students currently enrolled in an accredited, college-level art program in or near the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Applicants may submit up to five 2D works of art through the online submission platform. Work that has already been made or featured in previous shows will be accepted, though new work is encouraged, particularly featuring the City of Grapevine as a subject. Accepted artwork must be delivered to 636 S. Main St. Grapevine, TX 76051 by November 27, 2015. All accepted work will be judged for cash prizes: $500 for 1st Place, $300 for 2nd Place, and $200 for 3rd Place. Artists must pick up their work by January 8, 2016.

Submissions must include artist name, title, medium, and dimensions. Selected works must come prepared for installation. A loan agreement must be completed when artwork is received. Artists may offer work for sale, in which case a W-9 form and price list must be submitted when dropping off artwork. No nudes will be accepted. The Grapevine CVB reserves the right to reject any work not meeting eligibility requirements or deemed inappropriate.
