About This Call

SebArts Emerging Artist Incubator Program is designed to empower and support talented emerging artists on their journey to establish themselves as successful and sustainable artists by providing professional development. The program encompasses various aspects of their careers, from artistic development to financial management and community building.

Program Duration: 3 months (April 1 - June 30, 2025). Cohort size: 6 artists. Participants will meet for a minimum of 4 hours per week for weekly meetings and workshops, plus special events and exhibits. The program includes six modules: Artistic Development (studio space access, mentorship with established artists, two exhibitions at SebArts); Branding and Marketing (headshots, website and social media support, artist statement and bio assistance, social media training, monthly critique salons); Finances and Bookkeeping (financial literacy workshops, bookkeeping training); Developing Collector Relationships (collector panel, networking events); Exhibiting (curatorial guidance, framing workshops); and Developing Community (artist gatherings, community engagement opportunities).

Eligibility: Sonoma County-based artists, 18 years of age and older, working in any artistic discipline. Emerging artists are those in the beginning stages of making their work public and engaging larger communities in their practice. Applicants must be available to attend regular meetings at SebArts. Application requirements include artist narrative, work samples (minimum 2, maximum 10 total samples including images, audio, and video), letter of support from someone familiar with their work, and resume. Applications will be reviewed based on creative vision, aesthetic excellence, and community engagement and social impact. Program is generously sponsored by Creative Sonoma and the County of Sonoma.
